About
A Teaching Philosophy Rooted in Presence, Compassion, and Practical Care
I believe the most meaningful care begins with presence—being fully attentive, calm, and grounded with another person. My work as an educator is centered on teaching simple, evidence-based approaches that support connection, comfort, and well-being for those who care for others.
As a registered nurse and certified ‘M’ Technique® instructor, I have seen how caregivers, nurses, and helping professionals often give deeply of themselves while having few tools to support their own nervous systems and emotional resilience. Teaching gentle, structured techniques that promote calm and confidence can make a meaningful difference—both for those receiving care and those providing it.
My Approach to Teaching
My teaching style is practical, respectful, and grounded in real-world caregiving environments. I focus on education, that is:
-
Evidence-based and thoughtfully structured
-
Accessible and easy to learn, regardless of prior experience
-
Adaptable across healthcare, community, and faith-based settings
-
Respectful of boundaries, scope of practice, and individual comfort
I believe education should empower participants with skills they can use immediately—without adding complexity or burden to already demanding roles.
Why This Education Matters
Caregiving, whether personal or professional, can be both deeply meaningful and emotionally demanding. When caregivers are supported with tools that promote calm, presence, and confidence, care naturally becomes more compassionate and sustainable.
My goal as an educator is to support those who serve others by teaching approaches that foster:
-
Reduced stress and anxiety
-
Greater confidence in caregiving interactions
-
Enhanced presence and connection
-
Whole-person well-being—body, mind, and spirit
